Finding a Rhythm
We recently upended our lives with the sweetest gremlin imaginable (pictured above). I wasn’t quite prepared for this level of puppy enthusiasm, as our last boy was maybe a saint? I just thought we were really great at raising dogs, but nope, maybe not. Our darling Frances is putting us through the paces and it’s no joke. With two teenagers in the home, we are a quieter household than we once were. Gone are the days of toys strewn about, dirty dishes in the sink, spills and accidents happening at a record breaking pace. But enter Frances, and all of a sudden life has exploded into chaos. My house is a mess of dog toys, half eaten chews, water on the floor (she likes to dig her water out of the bowl), and my studio might have half a dead snake in it. I don’t know because I only found one half. I’m exhausted! She’s the best puppy in the world for about 12 minutes after waking up. And then you just better be prepared to lay down some structure. I know she’s going to be an amazing dog when she’s grown, and we have gotten into a bit of a rhythm already, but getting into the studio before work has been HARD. Much like when my children were little. So, I know this too shall pass, and that it’s best if I just let go a little, and enjoy the beauty and the mess around me. Here’s to knowing that a new rhythm is just around the corner, with a wonderful companion added to the mix.
